Does my motorcycle need to be roadworthy for transport?
No. Giant Van transports non-running motorcycles as standard. We use a wheel cradle to roll the bike into position without requiring the engine to start. If your bike has seized brakes, a flat tyre, or cannot be pushed under its own weight, advise us at booking so we can confirm the right loading approach.
Will ratchet straps be used on my motorcycle?
Never. Giant Van uses soft fabric straps only on every motorcycle transport booking. Ratchet straps are not used on bodywork, frames, or painted surfaces — they are not carried on our motorcycle transport vehicles.
Can you transport a motorbike that I've just bought at auction?
Yes. Transporting a motorbike after an auction purchase is one of our most common bookings. Provide the collection address, confirm whether the bike is running, and we will arrange collection and delivery to your home, storage, or workshop.
Can you transport a scooter or moped?

Can I leave hard panniers on the bike?
Hard panniers should be emptied before transport. If possible, remove them — this reduces weight transfer risk and simplifies cradle loading. Soft luggage must be removed completely.
How long does motorcycle transport take?
Most routes under 200 miles complete on the same day. Routes over 300 miles may deliver the following morning. Exact timings are confirmed at booking based on your specific route.
Can you collect from a storage unit, lockup, or garage?
Yes. We collect from storage units, lockups, private garages, and commercial premises. Our transport vehicles need approximately 3 metres of clear headroom and enough space to position the ramp. Tell us about low ceilings, narrow entrances, or tight turns when booking so we can confirm the right vehicle for your access.
Do you transport classic and vintage motorcycles?
Yes. Classic bikes are transported using enclosed trailers, handled with additional care, and secured with soft straps only. We have transported pre-war machines, competition bikes, and one-off customs.

Every motorcycle is photographed before loading and again at delivery, so any condition change is documented at both ends. If damage is identified at handover, raise it on the spot and we will start the claim process immediately. All transport is covered up to £50,000 by our goods-in-transit policy. Can I cancel or reschedule my motorcycle transport booking?
Yes. Cancellations and reschedules made more than 48 hours before the collection window are free of charge. Within 48 hours, a deposit retention may apply.
