How the services differ
The services on this page are separated by how much of the work is yours and by how much of the day the van is committed to you. That is the real difference between them. It is not a quality ladder where the expensive option is the good one.
A man and van books a driver, a vehicle and either one or two people to load. It suits moves where you have packed, where the inventory is a flat or a small house, and where the job fits comfortably into part of a day.
A full house removal commits the crew and the van to your move for the whole job, which is what a three or four-bedroom house needs once wardrobes, white goods and a loft are involved.
Office and commercial work is different again, because the constraint is usually the building rather than the load: lift bookings, out-of-hours access and a deadline that is somebody's Monday morning. Single-item and furniture delivery sits at the other end, priced around one object rather than a room count.
Choosing between them
Three questions settle it for most people, and they are worth answering in this order rather than starting with price.
Answer these three first
- How much is there, honestly? Count the loft, the shed, the garage and the cupboard under the stairs. Underestimating volume is what turns one trip into two, and a second trip costs more than the larger van would have.
- Who is doing the lifting? If you are packing and carrying to the door yourself, a smaller booking works. If everything needs to come out of rooms, you need the crew committed for longer.
- What is the hardest five minutes of the day? A narrow staircase, a fourth-floor flat with a small lift, a red route outside the front door. The hardest part of the job sets the shape of the booking, not the average part.
What every service has in common
Whichever service you book, the same things are true, and it saves time to know them once rather than checking on each page.
Pricing is fixed at the point of booking against the details you give, so the quote you accept is the amount you pay, and it is settled in full at the point you book, which is why there is nothing left to hand over once the van is unloaded.
Access factors that add time, such as stairs, a long carry or a controlled-traffic zone in a city centre, are priced into that quote up front instead of appearing as an extra afterwards.
Basic cover for your belongings is included on every job, with a higher level available as an add-on if what you are moving is worth more than the standard amount. Drivers are self-employed and work through the platform rather than being employed by us, which is how a national coverage map is possible at short notice.
Every service is booked the same way and every one of them is priced by the same engine.
