Engine courier prices depend on three main factors: the weight and size of the unit, the distance between collection and delivery, and the service level you need.

A small four-cylinder engine going from one side of London to the other will cost considerably less than a V6 block travelling from Cornwall to Scotland.

As a general guide, short-haul engine deliveries within a major city or region typically start from around £60 to £120.

Cross-country deliveries for heavier units can range from £150 to £350 or more depending on weight and access at both ends. Same-day and urgent bookings carry a premium, usually 25 to 50 percent above the standard rate. If a crane, forklift, or tail-lift is required at either address, this needs to be flagged at the point of booking so we can send the right vehicle.

We charge based on actual weight and dimensions, not an estimated average.

When you call , we will ask for the engine make, model, approximate weight, and any pallet or crating details. We then give you a fixed price with no hidden fuel levies or rural surcharges added afterwards. All quotes include transit insurance up to a stated value. If your engine is worth more, we offer declared value cover that can be added to any booking at a straightforward per-hundred-pounds rate.

The UK has a large and active market for second-hand and reconditioned engines.

Breakers yards ship engines to garages daily. Engine rebuilders dispatch fully reconditioned units to trade customers and private buyers. Classic car restorers source period-correct engines from across the country. All of these transactions need a reliable engine courier in between.

The standard parcel courier network is not designed for this.

Carriers such as DPD, DHL, and Parcelforce have weight limits and packaging requirements that exclude most engine shipments. Their depot-based networks involve multiple rehandling points, each one a potential damage event for a heavy and irregularly shaped item. When engines go through standard parcel networks, damage claims are common and difficult to resolve.
