Worcester's road layout creates specific challenges for removal vans.

The city sits on the east bank of the River Severn, with the A449 and A38 forming the main arterial routes. Our drivers use these confidently, but the side streets demand local knowledge.

The Cathedral area on College Street and College Precincts has vehicle restrictions during peak tourist hours.

Friar Street, a medieval thoroughfare in WR1, is wide enough for a van but has awkward junctions at both ends. If you're moving from a property near the Guildhall on High Street, early-morning slots avoid delivery lorries and pedestrian congestion.

St John's (WR2) on the west side of the river is accessed via the Severn Street bridge or Powick Bridge.

Both are fine for a standard removal van. However, Worcester Bridge itself has weight limits for heavy goods vehicles, so we route our larger lorries accordingly.

The Diglis area near the canal basin is popular for new-build flats and can have restricted parking along Diglis Road.

We recommend booking a temporary parking suspension through Worcester City Council at least 48 hours before your move. Our team can advise on this when you call.

Kempsey and Claines, on the southern and northern fringes of Worcester, are served by rural B-roads.

Access to farms or older properties off the A38 may require a smaller vehicle. Mention the property type when you book and we'll send the right size van.

WR1 covers the city centre and Cathedral Quarter.

This includes moves on Foregate Street, The Tything, and Sidbury. These are our most frequently requested postcodes. They require early starts to avoid peak traffic near Friar Gate.

WR2 is the St John's district on the west bank of the Severn.

We handle a high volume of moves in this area due to the large number of Victorian terraces and 1930s semis. Access across Worcester Bridge requires checking vehicle weights for larger loads.

WR3 covers Claines and Barbourne in the north of the city.

Barbourne Road is a key arterial route and parking can be tight near the schools. Claines is more rural and we often send a smaller van for single-storey cottage properties.

WR4 includes Warndon and the large 1980s and 1990s housing estates to the north-east.

These areas have good road access and estates like Warndon Villages are easy to navigate with a full removal lorry.
