Rochester's road layout requires local knowledge.

The High Street itself is a pedestrianised zone during daytime hours, which means properties accessed from it need early morning starts or specific access arrangements. If you are moving from a property near Rochester Cathedral or along The Esplanade, we will liaise with Medway Council's parking team in advance to arrange a temporary suspension of on-street bays. This avoids delays and keeps your move on schedule.

Borstal Road and the surrounding streets in the Borstal area are generally straightforward for a long-wheelbase van, but the junctions onto Manor Road can be tight when lorries are making deliveries to the industrial units nearby.

We use a Luton van or a 7.5-tonne box vehicle depending on what the access allows. Strood, just across the River Medway, has its own access quirks. The residential streets off Cuxton Road include some very narrow points that rule out large vehicles. In these cases we use shuttle runs with a smaller transit, so nothing is ever left behind.

Rochester's riverside properties, particularly those on The Esplanade near the old cement works site, often have no formal off-street parking.
