The historic centre around Lancaster Castle on Castle Hill has extremely limited lorry access. Market Street and Church Street in the city centre both have width restrictions that rule out larger vehicles during pedestrian trading hours, typically 10am to 4pm on weekdays.

Morecambe Road (A589) is a key arterial route into Lancaster from the south and often backs up during school run times between 8am and 9am.

Our drivers route around it where possible, using the Caton Road corridor instead for eastern approaches.

The university area around Bailrigg (LA1 4) has particular challenges.

Campus security controls vehicle access, and many student-occupied streets like Grizedale Avenue have permit zones active until at least 10am. If you're moving out of university accommodation, book our early morning slots to avoid parking fines.

The Riverside area along the River Lune near St George's Quay is a growing residential zone with several new-build developments.

These properties often have underground car parks with height barriers at 1.8 metres. Our standard vans clear 1.9 metres, so we always confirm access with you before arrival.

In Skerton and Ryelands, older terraced housing often means no driveway and street parking only.

We bring trolleys, blankets, and furniture pads as standard so we can load efficiently even with a thirty-metre carry from front door to vehicle. Always tell us about stairs and tight hallways when you book.
