Man and Van in Meadows Nottingham

The Meadows has specific access challenges that catch out removal firms unfamiliar with the area.

Here is what you need to know before your move date.

Arkwright Street runs as a main thoroughfare through the neighbourhood and carries two-way traffic, but side streets off it are often narrow with vehicles parked on both kerbs.

Our drivers approach these streets from the Trent Bridge end where turning space is wider.

Crocus Street and Kirkewhite Street both have terraced housing that opens directly onto the pavement, meaning there is no driveway to use as a staging area.

We bring a sack trolley and furniture sliders to manage this.

Queen's Drive, which forms the northern boundary of the Meadows along the Trent Embankment, offers easier van access and occasional unrestricted lay-by parking for loading.

If your property backs onto or is near the embankment, we recommend booking a morning slot when the road is quieter.

The Meadows is within Nottingham's boundary but sits close to the Rushcliffe district border at Wilford.

Customers in the NG11 postcodes of Wilford, Silverdale and Compton Acres are within our standard Rushcliffe coverage zone. There are no low bridges or weight-restricted roads between the Meadows and the Rushcliffe border that affect our standard Luton vans.

However, the Trent Bridge itself has a peak-hour bus lane that activates between 07:30 and 09:30 and 16:00 and 18:30.

Our drivers are briefed to route via Wilford Lane or the A52 during those windows to avoid delays to your booking.

In the Meadows and immediate surroundings, we cover every street in NG2 1, NG2 2 and NG2 3.

This includes the Trent Embankment, the streets bordering Lady Bay, and the Meadows itself from the ring road down to the Wilford boundary.

In Rushcliffe we cover Wilford (NG11 7), West Bridgford (NG2 5 and NG2 6), Edwalton (NG12 4), Ruddington (NG11 6), Radcliffe on Trent (NG12 2), Bingham (NG13 8), Clifton (NG11 8 and NG11 9) and Keyworth (NG12 5).

These are all within our standard pricing zone with no additional travel surcharge.

For moves that start or end outside the Rushcliffe and inner Nottingham zone, such as long-distance moves to Leicester, Derby, Sheffield or further, our long-distance man and van service starts from £500.

We quote based on mileage, crew size and load, not on a generic flat rate.
