That means SA1 through to SA9, plus crossover moves into the Vale of Neath (SA10, SA11) and Llanelli (SA14, SA15). Here is how service works in the areas our Swansea customers move most often.

SA1 and SA2 cover the city centre, St Thomas, Uplands, Brynmill, and Sketty.

These are dense urban streets. Many buildings off The Kingsway or around Oxford Street have no lift. Our weekend crews in SA1 carry furniture wrap and shoulder straps for narrow Victorian staircases. We know that Uplands Crescent has on-street parking restrictions that ease at weekends, and we plan collection times around that.

SA3 covers Mumbles, the Gower villages, and Bishopston.

Weekend access here is both the best and worst depending on summer tourism. Outside peak season a Sunday move through Mumbles Road along the seafront is straightforward. In summer, we advise early morning starts before the beachgoers head to Langland Bay or Caswell Bay. Our GPS system shows the van's live position, so you always know when we are five minutes away.

SA4 takes in Gorseinon and Loughor on the north-west edge of the city.

SA5 and SA6 cover Manselton, Morriston, and the Clase area near the DVLA. These are primarily residential streets with good van access. Weekend mornings here are calm. SA7 and SA8 include Birchgrove and Pontardawe, where some properties sit on hillside plots with steep driveways. Our drivers assess these in advance via the app.

Here is what you actually need to know based on the areas where we work most.

Wind Street and the Castle Square area in SA1 are pedestrianised on Saturday mornings from 10am.

If you are collecting from anywhere in that immediate zone, you need an early start. We aim to be on-site before 9am on jobs in that area. The loading access from Mariner Street or Princess Way is the practical route.

The Uplands area in SA2, particularly Gwydr Crescent, Hanover Street, and the streets running off Uplands Crescent, are tight Victorian terraces.

Double yellow lines run the length of most of them. On weekdays this is impossible for a large van. On Saturday mornings before 9am, short-term loading is workable because resident permit holders are not yet competing for space. We build this timing into the booking.

Mumbles (SA3) presents a different challenge.

Mumbles Road between Blackpill and Mumbles Head carries heavy coastal traffic on summer weekends. For properties in Westbourne Place or Newton Road above Oystermouth, we take the back roads through Sketty and West Cross. It adds four minutes and avoids the bottleneck entirely.

Morriston (SA6) is straightforward.

Clase Road, Neath Road, and the surrounding residential streets have good van access. Weekend mornings are calm. Same for Fforestfach and the retail park area, which generates a number of moves from the nearby housing estates.
