When Cambridge businesses move office, they usually face two problems at the same time: getting old furniture out and new furniture in, often on the same day.

We break down flat-pack and modular office furniture, wrap it, transport it and rebuild it at the destination. If you are clearing a vacated office in the CB3 postcode near Newnham or the CB5 area around Barnwell Road, we remove and responsibly dispose of unwanted items. Cambridge City Council's bulky waste collection does not cover commercial volumes, so a professional removal is the practical route.

For fit-outs, we work alongside your office fit-out contractor, bringing in furniture at the stage that suits the build programme.

We have delivered to sites on King Street and Mill Road in Cambridge where road closures and cycle lane enforcement made vehicle access complicated. We plan routes in advance and confirm parking permits before we arrive. This is what separates experienced office movers from a generalist courier who turns up and hopes for the best.

Cambridge has some of the tightest road access conditions of any UK city its size.

The historic centre, covering the CB2 and CB3 postcodes around King's College, Trinity Street and Bridge Street, operates with Environmental Restriction Zones and timed access controls. Delivery vehicles over a certain size cannot enter parts of the city centre between 10am and 4pm. This is enforced by ANPR cameras and the fines are significant.

We plan every Cambridge furniture delivery around these restrictions.

For city-centre deliveries, we schedule arrival before 10am or after 4pm, or use a smaller vehicle that falls within the permitted category. If a job requires a larger vehicle, we apply for an access permit from Cambridge City Council. This costs a small administration fee which we include in your quote upfront.

Narrow lanes are another factor.

Grantchester Street and Newnham Road in CB3 are frequently blocked by parked cars and cyclists. We send a two-person crew so that one person can spot and guide the van while the other manages the furniture. Streets around the market in CB2, such as Petty Cury and Market Hill, are pedestrian-only at most times. Nearby delivery points on Emmanuel Street or St Andrew's Street are used as drop-off points, with hand-trolleys covering the final distance.

Cambridge's cycling infrastructure also affects routing.

Many major roads have protected cycle lanes that prevent stopping. We know which streets allow loading and which do not, which means your delivery does not end in a parking fine or a blocked road.
