The town splits across two main postcodes, PR8 and PR9, and the access conditions vary significantly between them.

In PR9, which covers the town centre and the streets around Lord Street and Eastbank Street, parking for a van is tight during shopping hours.

The one-way system around Tulketh Street and Scarisbrick Avenue adds time to deliveries if drivers aren't prepared. Our team plans routes before arrival and where necessary, uses the loading bays on Chapel Street.

PR8 covers Birkdale, Ainsdale, and the southern parts of Southport.

Birkdale Village around Liverpool Road has narrow side streets where a full-size removal lorry wouldn't fit. We use appropriately sized vehicles for each job. A long-wheelbase van handles most furniture deliveries here without blocking the road.

The seafront area along the Promenade and Marine Drive poses its own challenges.

Coastal properties often have steps, no lift access, and tight stairwells. We assess this at the quote stage. If you live in a flat above the first floor, tell us when you book. We'll factor in the carry distance and confirm whether the item will fit before we arrive.

Churchtown, to the north, has wider residential streets and generally easier access.

Ainsdale near the nature reserve also presents no unusual obstacles for standard deliveries. For anything requiring a carry of more than 50 metres from the vehicle, we'll discuss a small additional fee at booking.

Birkdale (PR8 2, PR8 4): The residential streets around Birkdale Village and Liverpool Road are well within our range.

We service properties on Westcliffe Road, Kew Road, and the streets feeding off the Hillside area.

Ainsdale (PR8 2, PR8 3): Ainsdale village and the surrounding estates near Shore Road and Station Road are regularly served routes.

Properties near Ainsdale beach and the nature reserve have no access restrictions for our vehicles.

Churchtown (PR9 7): The older residential areas around Churchtown and the streets off Cambridge Road to the north are accessible without issue.

Wider roads here make delivery straightforward.

Banks and Crossens (PR9 8): The villages to the east of Southport along the A565 corridor.

Slightly more rural access but our vehicles manage these routes daily.

Formby and Hightown (L37, L38): Just south of Southport on the A565.

We cover both regularly and they fall within standard pricing.

Skelmersdale and Ormskirk (WN8, L39): Deliveries to these areas are available.
