Parking and access are the two factors that most affect how smoothly a Highfields removal runs.

The area has a Resident Permit Parking scheme across large sections, particularly around Saxby Street, Melbourne Road, and Maidstone Road. If your street falls within a controlled parking zone, you will need to apply for a temporary suspension through Leicester City Council. Applications typically take five to ten working days and cost around £35 to £60 per bay per day. Giant Van can advise you on this process and help you identify how many bays you need based on vehicle size.

Streets like Conduit Street and Saxby Street are among the narrower roads in the area.

Our smaller Luton vans are often the right choice here, and we can use two smaller vehicles instead of one larger lorry where the street does not allow bigger access. If your property is on one of the wider roads near Evington Road or Mere Road, a full-size Luton or even a 7.5-tonne vehicle may be appropriate for larger loads.

Some Highfields streets have speed bumps and tight corners near junctions.

Our drivers know the local layout and will carry out a pre-move route check. We also keep a set of furniture protection boards for narrow hallways and staircases, which are common in the Victorian terraces throughout the LE2 area. Getting access right from the start saves time and protects both your belongings and your property.
