How Storage Works With Us
Storage for long periods — three months or more — is most commonly needed during overseas work assignments, property renovations, and extended care-home transitions.
Giant Van coordinates long-term storage at partner facilities across England and Wales.
Items are palletised, photographed, and catalogued before storage so you have a clear record of what is being held.
Monthly storage rates for a one-bedroom flat load start from £65 per month at partner facilities.
Full house contents (three bedrooms) from £150 per month.
We provide a collection and delivery service at both ends — you do not need to transport anything to the facility yourself.
Every booking includes £500 of goods-in-transit cover free, with £3,000 Plus cover available for £12.
Storage: Planning Every Step
Storage costs in the UK vary by load size, location, and duration.
At self-storage facilities, a 25 sq ft unit (roughly a one-bedroom flat's worth of boxes) costs £60–£120 per month in London and £40–£80 outside London.
Managed storage — where a company collects, stores, and retrieves for you — adds a collection and delivery cost but removes the effort of transporting items yourself.
Giant Van's managed storage service costs from £65 per month plus a one-time collection fee from £48.
We provide a written inventory, photograph every item before storage, and confirm delivery dates by the end of our first call.

How Removals Work
- 01
Tell us about your move
Enter your collection and delivery addresses, select your property size, and list any large items. See a fixed price in under 60 seconds.
- 02
Choose your moving day
Pick a date and time slot that works for you. Add packing materials or extra helpers if you need them.
- 03
Relax while we move you in
A fully insured crew arrives on time, wraps and loads your belongings, and delivers everything to your new home.

Nothing Extra to Pay for Storage
On the day of your move, the Giant Van crew arrives within the agreed time window — typically a 30-minute slot.
The lead mover walks your property first, assessing large items, tight corners, and any flight of stairs.
Furniture wrapping starts in the rooms furthest from the exit.
Beds and wardrobes are dismantled before loading.
The van is packed from back to front, with heavy items on the floor and fragile boxes on top.
At the destination, the crew unloads to the rooms you specify and rebuilds any furniture that was taken apart.
You sign off on completion.
Payment is taken at the end of the job for full removals, or upfront online for man-and-van bookings.
Expect two to six hours depending on property size.

Popular UK Removal Routes
Regions Covered for Storage
National firms often send crews who have never worked a particular street before.
Giant Van drivers are allocated to regions they know.
That means parking strategy on restricted roads, awareness of time-controlled loading bays, knowledge of estate layouts, and understanding of access routes for large vans in older town centres.
Local knowledge reduces delays and prevents the situations where a crew cannot park and the customer loses hours waiting.
Giant Van's driver allocation is region-first, meaning you get someone familiar with the area, not the nearest available driver regardless of location.
A Note From Our Drivers
Our drivers navigate local streets daily, handling everything from narrow terraced house access to large detached properties. Every move is treated with care because our reputation depends on it.

When Is the Best Time to Move?
UK moving demand follows seasonal patterns. Off-peak months typically offer lower prices and more crew availability.
Van storage boxes are available from Giant Van as part of any storage or removal booking.
We stock double-walled medium boxes (40 x 40 x 40 cm), large boxes (60 x 40 x 40 cm), wardrobe boxes, and dish-pack cartons for fragile items.
Ordering boxes through us means they are sized to pack our vans and storage units efficiently — no wasted space, no collapsing towers.
A standard pack of 20 boxes delivered to your door costs from £25.
Boxes can be collected empty after your move and we deduct the return value from your final invoice.

How do I find extra storage space for my belongings?
Giant Van's managed storage service is the simplest solution: we collect your items from your property, store them at a secure facility, and redeliver to your new address when you are ready. No need to transport items yourself or visit a storage unit. From £65/month. Collection from £48. Message us in the live chat.
