Using the right box for the right item makes a genuine difference.

Heavy items in large boxes cause injuries and damage. Light items in small boxes waste space and slow the move down. Our Cambridge packing team uses a structured range of box sizes for every job.

Small boxes (35x25x25cm) are reserved for books, records, tins, and anything else dense and heavy.

These are double-walled and rated to 30kg. They are used constantly on Cambridge jobs because so many residents here have substantial book collections.

Medium boxes (45x30x30cm) handle kitchen items, DVDs, ornaments, and folded clothes.

They are our most-used size. A typical two-bedroom Cambridge flat requires between 20 and 35 medium boxes depending on how much has accumulated in cupboards.

Large boxes (60x40x40cm) work well for bedding, pillows, lampshades, and light bulkier items.

We always fill the base with heavier items first if we are mixing content types.

Wardrobe boxes with built-in hanging rails let clothes travel upright.

This is particularly useful for anyone in Cambridge moving to rented accommodation in the short term, where unpacking into wardrobes straight away is not always possible.

We also bring specialist flat-pack boxes for framed pictures, mirrors, and artwork.
